General Information

This comprehensive online program will prepare hospitalists to manage and effectively provide consultation for common perioperative medical disorders and will provide hospitalist physicians with the knowledge base to competently evaluate and effectively treat these conditions.

This online consultative medicine resource is specifically created and designed for hospitalists and residents interested in consultative medicine. There are no prerequisites to participate in this activity.

The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity. After completing all four modules, the participant should be able to:

• Design, formulate, and communicate effective consultations.
• Illustrate the impact of common medical disorders on perioperative morbidity and mortality.
• List and apply perioperative risk stratification criteria.
• Review common disease processes and their management in the perioperative period.
• Discuss and implement current management guidelines.
• Practice the appropriate use of perioperative medications.
